To achieve this, my mission is to craft meaningful digital experiences that bridge art, design, and technology through an African feminist and sociological lens. I want to embrace new technologies while leaning heavily on rich indigenous knowledge systems.

Art of Afrika Collective bridges this gap by using a sociological, decolonial, and feminist approach to art, design, and technology. We craft digital experiences that embody the values of ubuntu, celebrate African knowledge systems, and centre equity, representation, and community in every design decision.
Digital interfaces in Africa are often modelled on western practices resulting in products that feel alien, irrelevant or inaccessible. We aim to solve this by crafting experiences that are contextually meaningful, inclusive, and rooted in the practices of ubuntu.
African women and marginalised communities are underrepresented in the creation of digital experiences, leading to biased, incomplete, and exclusionary design outcomes. We center diverse voices and lived experiences in the design process—ensuring equity and representation are embedded, not added.
Many design methodologies and innovation frameworks still carry colonial biases that marginalise indigenous knowledge systems and aesthetics. The Collective reclaims and integrates African philosophies and design languages, advancing a decolonial approach to technology and creativity.
We believe meaningful work emerges through relationships and shared learning. Our projects prioritise participation, care, and collective imagination. We collaborate with activists, artists, researchers, and institutions. Community engagement informs every stage of our creative process.
